author’s note: This story was inspired by a paragraph from Christoper Heyn's "Inside Section One" book about the story changes to season 4's "Man in the Middle" when the story went from a self contained episode to a two parter. It stated, "A sexy shower scene between the Section operatives at Helmut's mansion, in which Michael gently but forcefully confronts Nikita about why she is giving Helmut far more personal attention than the mission profile requires, was cut. So was a later scene in which Nikita attempts to allay Michael's jealousy with a forceful kiss after he confronts he about shooting up heroin with Helmut in the middle of the night." This is sort of a companion piece to my other "Man in Middle" centered story "I am made of longing."
