Blood Ties comes to DVD sometime in June. Now I can finally see the last half of the season (no Lifetime, not season 2).

I didn't think it would happen this soon but apparently the 1Tetrabyte external hard drive I bought back in late March is now full.

Fandom Tidbits
May. 22nd, 2008 11:57 pmThe DVD release date for Life has been set for September 2. This sucker is totally priced to own with a SRP of $29.98 so I'm figuring a store price of around $25. Perhaps the price per episode comes out a bit high but if I enjoy this show as much as I'm anticipating who cares. Hopefully all the music remains intact but with its low SRP I have my doubts. Hopefully they're unfounded because one of the biggest selling points for me about Life is its killer soundtrack.

The DVD release date for Smallville season 7 has been set for the following week on September 9th. I'm both excited and scared for that release. There are certain episodes that I'm very excited to see but I'm really not looking forward to the Lois/Grant story arc that pretty much went no where and has given Lois naysayers yet another reason to trash her. I understand what it's purpose was for but from what I gather from other fans the execution was quite lacking.

The season 2 DVDs of Torchwood have also been announced for September 16. Nice cover but way out of my price range. It's the same reason why I haven't even thought about purchasing the 1st season, which I've yet to watch. I've enjoyed the show but not enough to pay that much for 13 episodes.
DVDs everywhere
Dec. 19th, 2007 07:40 pmIt's been so liberating not really having anything to look forward to on tv lately. That has pretty much opened me up towards the DVD on TV sets that I had yet to crack open. I come home from work. Catch up on my phone calls, do a bit of cleaning and then sit down with some dinner and an episode or two of one of my sets. However the recent sales of Black Friday and the Christmas rush has left me flooded with extra sets. Several of them are gifts but that doesn't mean they won't end up in my hands for eventual viewing. Oddly enough movie viewing for me has fallen on the wayside. Oddness.

dvds make me happy
Sep. 14th, 2007 11:17 pm It's oh so appropriate that my first post ever should be about my growing by the minute dvd collection. Amazon.com is having another one of their sales and this time I couldn't resist the temptation. I blame it on my need to complete my Forever Knight Trilogy. Season 3 will soon be mine! There's only 3 in stock so yay to all the FK fans out there who are still supporting the Knight. Quantum Leap season 5--the final season--will also be in my clutches. Other than season 1 it's the only region 1 set from that series that has the original music intact so that decision wasn't a hard one to make. Ray Charles' "George on my Mind" is playing in the final scene as it should be and it hasn't been replaced. As for the other seasons, I'm going the region 2 route. Of course that will require a region free player which I don't have so that won't be anytime soon. Batman: The Animated Series season 2 has also been purchased. It's hard to believe that show is like 15 years old. The episodes hold up so well. That is the definitive Batman as far as I'm concerned.
Movies wise I finally got Frankenstein. It's got far better entertainment value than Dracula. There's something comical and profoundly sad about the scene between Frankenstein and the little girl by the water. I also got three Midnite Movie combos for a grand total of six movies there. One of them is the Karen Black remake of 'Invaders From Mars'. That movie seriously have me nightmares as a kid and I'm looking forward to seeing it again. I'm a little bummed that there weren't any decent vampire movies from the 1970s and no those Count Lorga movies don't count.
I also ordered She-Ra Princess of Power season 2 on deepdiscount by it's on back order so it's going to be a while before I get that one.
Saw a pretty good promo for CBS' Moonlight show. It made the show look pretty good to the point that I want the show to last more than one season. Why do I feel like I'm cheating on Forever Knight by feeling that way?
