Torchwood: Children of Earth, Days 1 & 2

abby82I'm enjoying Torchwood: Children of Earth. I never did catch up on every episode of the series but I think it's safe to say that I've seen 75% of it.
However if I keep seeing promos for how it (CoE) is "how the X-Files movies should have been", I think I'm going to hurt somebody. Daily Variety can suck it as far as I'm concerned. Both FtF and IWTB were plenty enjoyable thank you very much.
Day One
--Loved that Gwen greets the photo of Tosh and Owen every morning.
--Loved the new territory that Jack and Ianto find themselves in
--Loved the scenes of Ianto with his working class family and Jack with his daughter.
--Loved the way Gwen would cock her head to the side in curiosity when she saw evidence of her baby.
--Loved the sort of symmetry from early in the episode in which Jack and Ianto both try to locate a child with Jack's line at the end of "Ianto, we're having a baby!"
Day Two
--Loved how kickass Gwen was in the beginning after the explosion
--Loved Gwen and Rhys together. Everything about them, from Rhys offering to carry her bag so her trigger finger was ready to the revelation of her pregnancy to steeling the undertaker's hearse.
--Loved Ianto's family (Ianto's father broke his leg? I hope we get more backstory.)
--Loved Lois whatshername
--Loved the concern Jack's daugher had for her.
--Loved the visceralness of Jack's resurrection and ack smothered by cement
--Loved the way Ianto rescued Jack by stealing the huge concrete block and dropping it off a cliff.
