I finished the first draft of my festivids entry.

I'm sure my entire household is probably sick of its song, but anyhoo. All this means my self-imposed removal from almost all things fandom (I'm doing Forever Knight recs over at crack_van ) is over.

The Chiller Blog has a nice and extensive interview with Ger.

There's lots of good stuff in it like Ger's introduction to directing, the Geminis, and how Ger originally got the role of Nick. I love this quote on the awful looking flying from the first season: "We had to develop our own goofy way of flying. In the first episodes, they hung me from a crane on a wire 80 feet above the ground and I'd be like a guppy trying to flap. It was really embarrassing."

I'm not sure how the school photograph of the young boy in the upper left hand corner is related to Forever Knight but there it is. I thought it was pretty neat. So what's the best news a Forever Knight fan could get these days?

Aside from an announcement that the series DVDs were being re-released with the Canadian cuts of the first season and be jam packed with commentaries and bloopers of course.

Well how's this: Geraint Wyn Davies will be hosting a two day marathon on Chiller of his favorite episodes next week.

First things, first. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone (in an unlocked post) who reached out and gave me words of encouragement during my recent health scare. Posting online and communicating about it with others was something I desperately needed. In real life I kind of wanted to keep it quiet so I didn't have an emotional outlet. I'm sorry for the lack of posts and responses lately. My absence was due to a nasty cold I had last week and it had nothing to do with the scary but now not so scary health issue. :-)


So...fannish stuff.

What happens when you throw all three into a fannish pot and stir briskly? festivids pops out. It's a fannish vid exchange inspired by Yuletide for small and rarely vidded fandoms.

Today is the last day to nominate a fandom and in going over the nominations list, there is plenty to be excited about.

I'm leaning towards participating in this. I did a vid for someone and it was such a positive experience. Of course it helped that a specific song was requested as well as the theme, so if the vid requests provide me with that much direction then I think I can do this.

Just a heads up for everyone, Chiller has scheduled two more FK marathons in the very near future.

The first one is tomorrow, Saturday, October 10th. It will begin at 9AM (eastern) and will run until 5pm (eastern)

It will run the first eight episodes of season 1 (Dark Knight--Cherry Blossoms)

The second batch of eight episodes from season 1 will air on this date. (I Will Repay--Only the Lonely)

For those who were able to watch the Chiller Labor Day marathon you can recall that the last episode of that marathon was "Dying For Fame" so this time around "Only the Lonely" will be making its Chiller premiere.

I owe people responses and I promise to get to them. Unfortunately, my internet time is a little scarce right now because my brother needs my computer for work stuff.

However, I do come bearing gifts for those of you who couldn't share in the fun of yesterday's Forever Knight marathon. It was awesome and fun and very enlightening is some ways. (Psst! Chiller edits made completely new scenes!) Chiller also put out three promos to promote the darn thing. They're pretty darn cool. I've uploaded all three to YouTube. Notes: I haven't created an actual vid in quite a while even though I have several FK vids as works in progress. That being said, most of them are character study type vids so there isn't much humor in them. To me, that's a major bummer so I decided to dig up this song from my 'to vid' pile and slap this sucker together. It features copious amounts of big, scary vampire fangs.

I came across the First Annual Femslash Kink meme over at dw via a post by havocthecat . I meant to scan only a few pages mainly because I didn't expect to find anything of interest. However, when I saw Natalie/Janette listed as a sample request I simply had to scan all the comments. Nothing popped up but I did leave two rather tame prompts. One was Janette/Natalie for Forever Knight and the second was Lois/Tess for Smallville.

Less than two hours later there was a wonderful, sexy AU ficlet featuring Janette and Natalie. Heaps of praise should be laid at the author's feet.post.

Pride, Prejudice & Jimmy Choos by sunrei -- a hilarious Smallville AU WIP that envisions Lois as a Hannah Montana pop princess named Lola Dakota. After a missed Good Morning, America concert, she is banished to the town of Smallville. Hilarity ensues. This has got some of the cleverist and snappiest dialogue I've read in a while. Sunrei hits another home run with this one.

I was visiting the site of Prufrock's Love X-FIles fic and while there I got suckered into re-reading an old favorite, the historical AU Paracelsus. This might be old news but there are some new additions sprinkled throughout the story. I haven't checked the other stories because I know that once I start I'll have to finish them. Besides, with three ficathons coming up for me, I should be writing not reading.

Because this one deserves its own post. There is a Forever Knight/Doctor Who webcomic starting up over at Rich's Comi-Blog entitled "Forever Janette".

Jaye, FORKNI-l listfounder posted this on the list earlier in the week and freaky_nerd  posted over at fk_freaks .

Schanke is present and accounted for but Urs is here as well. It's set just prior to the season 3 premiere. Yay for possible Janette and Urs interaction.

It remains to be seen which incarnation of the Doctor this will be but there has been a TARDIS sighting.

The Caddy has also made an appearance (squeeee!), as has Nick, Natalie and of course Janette.
