How is this even a competition? I mean come on, really? Out of all the candidates in TV Guide's poll for Sexiest Sci-Fi Guy Tom Welling of Smallville is by far the best choice. And no I'm not just saying it because I'm a fan. Well, Jamie Bamber of Battlestar Galactica is a pretty good choice too. ::shrug:: The poll is open till Friday so do your fangirl duty and vote for Tom! And Erica too for Sexiest Sci-Fi Girl. I tend to be pretty apathetic towards these type of polls mainly because they invite division in fandom and the winner usually means that there's enthusiastic (i.e. ballot stuffing) fans behind it. However there's a potential TV Guide cover and/or photoshoot at stake and Clois fans haven't had one since Erica joined the cast in 2004. With Smallville going into its 8th and final season I doubt we're ever going to get one if it doesn't happen here.

So a few days ago I was lamenting on what appeared to be a major dearth in Forever Knight videos. I noted that [profile] kristin1228 looked to be the only person out there currently making videos for the fandom. For the most part I still think it's true but not long after writing that post I stumbled upon the most awesomest of awesome FK video and I couldn't help but just sit there and grin like an idiot. And of course watch it over and over again.

Now I've always enjoyed the trinity of Nick, Janette and LaCroix.  It's a great balance and contrast to the Nick, Natalie, Schanke trio but as I watch the video for the umpteenth time I can't help thinking to myself, "Boy are these three beautiful together."

Fandom wise I keep adding things to my plate. I say I'm going to do something and then something else comes along and usurps it's position on my priority list. Twice I've had fic challenges distract me from my long festering stories. Now the upside is that the time restraints force me to actually produce something rather than let it fester but still. I feel like a neglectful mother.

So what I've decided to do is create a list of projects that can realistically be done. Therefore finishing my Forever Knight stories 'Things We Lost in the Fire' and 'Lives Interrupted' won't be included. My poor babies. Mamma just doesn't know how to make you behave.

Anyway, in no particular order...

On Smallville Lois has received a lot of flack from certain portions of the fandom about her job at the Inquisitor. Yes she now has a desk at the Daily Planet but some people keep harping that she got her start at the journalism equivalent of bird cage liner rather than a respectable paper like the Smallville Ledger.

The Inquisitor has had its share of questionable stories (the Chupacabra, really?) but I don't feel that slight Weekly World News allusions that S6 and early S7 gave it are entirely representative of what the Inquisitor is in the fictional world of Smallville.

Oh Smallville you're back! I'm missed you so much and you certainly didn't disappoint. Now I can fulfill the main purpose of getting this lj by getting to ramble on and on about you.

I still need to process everything and maybe watch the episode again but quick first impressions because the lunch break is slowly coming to an end.
