In preparation for X-Files: I Want to Believe Fox is releasing a two disc set featuring 8 quintessential episodes for the newbie spanning seasons 1-6. Among them are season 1's "Beyond the Sea", season 2's "The Host", season 3's "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose", season 4's "Memento Mori", season 5's "Bad Blood" and season 6's "Milagro". Chris Carter and his series right hand man Frank Spontniz filmed introductions to the episodes and the intro for "Milagro" is online. Gillian Anderson hilariously joins Chris Carter for his interview and I gotta say that she couldn't possibly be more adorable if she tried.

It's fun to see Chris trying to be serious but failing as a goofy Gillian perches her chin on his shoulder. Her facial expressions are hilarious as she reacts to Chris' commentary. She expresses confusion when Chris calls "Milagro" one of the series' best episodes and shock when he mentions that Sean Penn once told him it was the best X-Files episode they ever did. Their segment ends with a quick kiss from Gililan to Chris that makes makes my Xphile heart go awwwwwwww.

In other XF2 news there's an article about UNKLE's involvement with the soundtrack. Apparently he's "reinterpreting" the theme and another one of his songs will run during the closing credits. I've already downloaded it and I'm already a big fan of it, although the lyrics "We're miles adrift/ We're inches apart" has some fans worried about the status of the MSR.
